Here, quick! Swallow these two AI pills… HTML is the ultimate medium between human and machine: the Babel fish AND voice is the best way to communicate with machine. Sorted.
Depending on how AI-pilled you are, you might already be happily blabbering away to your AI buddy. That or you side eye sociopaths who speak to their computer. So let's go a little deeper on why we should all be sociopaths.
We're all exhausted with powerpoints and decks, Word and Google docs. They require a certain mode of attention and environment to digest. But boy can we digest HTML web pages absolutely anywhere. On average humans visit 50 to 150 web pages per day (a decent percentage of that whilst on the loo). Sure a Markdown file is good, but have you asked your LLM to output your reports, strategies, and ideas into a "visually rich HTML page" instead of yet another bloody deck? Go on, try it. It just feels more… human. The kind of convenient format you can enjoy on any device in any setting (even on a throne). But to date, html is a bit tricky to share and comment on. Bummer 🙁
Voice interface and transcription has always been a super janky modality. But something unlocked in the last year in the AI boom with Wispr Flow and local open source alternatives like Muesli and FluidVoice. Suddenly, much to the consternation of the other person in the room, it makes a great deal more sense to speak to your computer / LLM. Our thoughts flow freely, no longer constrained by your speed of typing. And LLMs embrace and parse our full-spectrum ADHD stream of consciousness with ease. We no longer need to conform to a system. We can speak our mind. Joy 🙂
